We are moving decisively to deliver this strategic national project on schedule.”
— H.E. Eng. Khalifa Al Zaffin, Executive Chairman of Dubai Aviation City Corporation
During DAEP’s official press conference at Airport Show 2025, His Excellency confirmed that the development of Al Maktoum International Airport is well underway.
”Led by Dubai Aviation Engineering Projects, we have already awarded key contracts, including site enabling works and the construction of the second runway. Major packages such as the Automated People Mover (APM) and the Baggage Handling System (BHS) are currently in the tendering stage, with contracts expected to be awarded later this year.
In addition, the terminal substructure, 132kV substations, and district cooling plants will also be tendered this year — laying the foundation for the next stages of delivery.”
He added:
”This ambitious project is a cornerstone of the Dubai Economic Agenda 2033 — driving long-term economic growth, fostering innovation, and reinforcing Dubai’s global competitiveness in aviation and beyond.”
”Today’s announcement by Emirates of record-breaking 2024 revenues is a clear sign of the momentum our aviation sector is achieving — and AMIA is the key to sustaining that growth into the future.”
”The Airport Show continues to be a vital platform for connecting with forward-thinking contractors and solution providers who share Dubai’s bold vision. We remain fully committed — in close partnership with the aviation community — to delivering a world-class, future-ready gateway that reflects Dubai’s global leadership in aviation.”
